What to Expect After Craniosacral Session
A Craniosacral session is as unique as you are. The light touch of craniosacral is often misconstrued as "not doing anything"; however, subtle and deep movements of tissue release occur with the lightest of touch. Some people lose the ability to perceive when the therapist is touching them, as their hands seek to meld with the rhythm of the body. Sometimes this light touch can elicit pain when a restriction is awakened and released. Just as removing a splinter from your finger may elicit pain, removing a restriction in the fascia or connective tissue may release pain held in the tissue, or memories of pain in our emotions. This is a indicator that the body is rebalancing and incorporating changes and healing is beginning. Not all releases bring about pain, nor are they always immediate. Many people report that they feel less restrictions after treatment, sometimes even days later. However, what most people do feel during and after treatment is deep relaxation and calm, along with changes in tissue, greater mobility and freer breathing. If you have any questions about your session, do not hesitate to call Mei.
