Memorial Reopening Letter ~ May 26, 2020
Hello dear Friends,
Happy Memorial Day! On this weekend I always think of my brother-in-law, Francis Leslie. A Navy SEAL officer, he served in Grenada and Lebanon in the 1980s. After his discharge he was diagnosed with cancer. He fought it for 13 years and beat many odds. At his suggestion I pursued training in massage therapy, and a few years later, oncology massage. He derived great benefit from massage in the course of his illness. His encouragement to me, and the memory of his courage in every facet of his life are treasured gifts. He passed away a month before I graduated massage school, and my work has always been overshadowed by memories of him. He was a live-life-to-the-fullest guy, and is deeply missed. This weekend I hope you can take time to remember the ones in your life who have inspired you and gave all for our country.

About reopening: This extended isolation has afforded me time to consider how to continue my work and what changes need to be made in the coming months.
Most of the changes are outlined in Bodywork in the Time of COVID. There is important information here that will affect you. It outlines some basic procedures that will be implemented when you come for treatment. Some other changes not listed on that page:
|
- I will begin phasing out offering therapeutic massage, and instead focusing my practice on Craniosacral therapy (CST) and oncology massage.
- I will not be accepting new clients in general, possibly until the Fall, in order to accommodate existing clients.
- For my massage-only clients: I will continue to offer appointments for therapeutic massage through August, 2020. This will give you time to redeem unused packages. You also have the option and opportunity to use them for a Craniosacral session for no extra charge. Visit the Craniosacral page for more information about CST and its many benefits.
- The above also applies to those of you with massage gift certificates. If you gave a massage gift certificate to someone I have never seen, please inform them to call me to set up a time, as I do not have their contact information.
- Whether you have pre-paid sessions or not, call or text me soon if you would like to schedule an appointment, as appointment times will likely fill up.
These changes have been difficult, tearful decisions for me, as I know this will mean parting ways with many of you, some who have been with me from the beginning. I have needed to narrow the focus of my work for some time, and this hiatus has given me a clearer vision to see it through.
If you have questions about how any of this applies to you, please call me. I hope to see you all this summer.
With hope and love,
Mei
