A Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage can feel like intense exercise. Your muscles get worked and you may feel tired. Just as you would after exercising, you will need to hydrate after your massage. Make it a point to drink plenty of plain water. Some people experience minor soreness after a Deep Tissue Massage; this is normal, but should not last. It should subside within a day. Your body will also need time to integrate the changes in the tissue. It is recommended you refrain from intense physical activity for 12-24 hours after your massage.
If you have any questions about your session, do not hesitate to call Mei.

What to Expect After Your Therapeutic Massage (Deep Tissue)
Feel like a new person after hot stone therapy, after my first marathon here in Chicago. Thank you, Mei Leslie. --Nan P.
Wow! Double WOW!! That hot stone massage was amazing!!! --Marilyn
The massage with the stones is incredible! Mei makes you feel comfortable and embraces your personal needs as she works her magic with her energy empowered stones. I was pleasantly surprised and didn't want it to end! Everyone should try this; not only did it make me feel like jello, but I felt so well for weeks afterwards! Please do this for your own health and well-being while enjoying the sensitive and caring nature of Mei. Invest in yourself and indulge your spirit! --Cheryle
A Stone Therapy Massage can work deeper than a Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage. The heat (and contrasting cold, if used), and the movement of the stones, works to relax the tissue. It is not unusual to feel tired or groggy after treatment. Because of the extreme temperature shifts that the tissue has experienced, it is very important that you hydrate afterward. You will be given water after your session, but you need to continue drinking water afterward. It is not likely, but some soreness may occur after a Stone Therapy Massage. If you are sore, it should subside within a day. It is also recommended you refrain from intense physical activity for 12-24 hours after your treatment. If you have any questions about your session, do not hesitate to call Mei.

Heated stones encourage the release of tight muscles and open energy pathways of the body. Chilled marble stones are employed to relieve muscular injury, inflammation, and chronic holding patterns. Alternating hot and cold stones stimulates dilation and constriction in the circulatory system, creating a pumping action which softens the tissue.
Stone Therapy Massage is great for athletes, for people with chronic tension, and for anyone wanting soothing, lasting, stress relief. However, it is not recommended for people with certain health concerns. Please refer to the Stone Therapy Intake Form for more details. |
